After a mastectomy, you may decline plastic surgery. If so,
you may then find yourself in search of an alternative—breast forms. It’s a
good safe choice.
Shopping Online
Your best option is to find a professional certified breast
form fitter. You should be able to look in your phone book under the term “mastectomy”
and find a store that has a fitter. If you are not finding a listing you may go on
line to a site like yellowpages.com. You would then search for a business, put
in the word breast prosthesis or mastectomy, enter the closest large city to you and
start a search. You would then want to call and be sure they had certified fitters.
Your best bet after that, if you have not found a fitter you wish
is to see, would be to do your shopping online. This is convenient and may be
done in the privacy of your home. You should look for a store offering a wide
variety of quality products. Read through the descriptions and do a bit of
research on the pros and cons of each type. If you have trouble making a
choice, make sure the company has customer service reps waiting to assist you
and don’t hesitate to use them.
